War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) is a community-based organization in Kano State dedicated to preventing drug abuse, promoting youth development, strengthening community resilience, providing guidance and counselling services, supporting rehabilitation initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships that advance public health, peace building, and social transformation across Kano State and beyond.
To build a drug-free, healthy, peaceful, and productive society where young people and communities are empowered to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to sustainable development.
To prevent drug abuse, promote youth development, strengthen community resilience, provide guidance and counseling services, support rehabilitation initiatives, and foster strategic partnerships that advance public health, peace building, and social transformation across Kano State and beyond.
Institutional
WADA Kano State Command is a duly recognized community-based organization registered with the Kano State Government under the Ministry of Rural and Community Development and recognized across various Local Government Areas within the state.
The organization is currently undergoing registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to further strengthen its legal and institutional framework at the national level.
WADA maintains a strong collaborative relationship with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and works in partnership with other security agencies, government institutions, community leaders, educational institutions, development organizations, civil society groups, and private sector stakeholders in promoting drug abuse prevention, youth empowerment, peace building, and community development initiatives.
WADA Marshals constitute the backbone of the organization and serve as trained volunteers dedicated to promoting drug abuse prevention, youth development, peace building and community service.
